About Ms. Wendy-Ann Diaz
My Story
Ms. Wendy-Ann Diaz is a super cool teacher who teaches social studies at Lockhart K – 8 School in St. Thomas, USVI. She was born in the sunny Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and went to school at Charlotte Amalie High School in St. Thomas. Ms. Diaz went to Florida State University and learned a ton about history and how people think, which is called psychology.
Not An Average Teacher
Ms. Diaz isn’t just any teacher; she’s like a superhero for students! She fights to make school and learning better for everyone. She’s the brain behind a really awesome project called the Tshwane 3D Intervention Program, which helps students do their best in school.
People have noticed how amazing she is and have given her lots of high-fives in the form of nominations and a special award for being a trailblazer for kids. But guess what? Ms. Diaz doesn’t just teach; she creates magic with words, writing songs, poems, plays, and stories.
She wrote a children’s book about the childhood of Tyla Laura Seethal, who grew up to be a famous singer and songwriter. Ms. Diaz believes Tyla’s story can show every kid how to dream big, work hard, believe in themselves, and never, ever give up. She thinks it’s super important for you to follow your dreams, just like Tyla did!
